Bedrock Skatepark in Oroville California
The skatepark in Oroville, California is called The Bedrock Skate and Bike Park. This skatepark has a little bit of everything and is a great skatepark for anyone. The skatepark surrounds a picnic shelter on three sides which makes for a pretty cool environment. The perspective from inside the picnic shelter is cool because you can be right in the middle of the skatepark watching, but also not being in anyones way. The layout of this skatepark is great because there are distinct sections of the park and it gives riders a great selection of obstacles on either side of the park.

Riders Thoughts:
The Bedrock Skatepark in Oroville is a really fun skatepark for boards or bikes, and is also great for a longboard. As soon as you walk through the gate you see the smooth transitions and shallow side of the large main bowl area.
I knew right away that I was going to like this skatepark when I saw the multiple roll in areas. These ranged from short and mellow to tall, steep vert roll in areas.
The large bowl area of the Oroville Skatepark is great for long lines and cruising. There are many pockets in the bowl as well as an island in the middle. All of these smooth transitioned vert walls and banked turns give the bowl a great flow in any direction. The vert walls in this bowl vary but there is nothing too tall or intimidating for an average skateboarder.
The banked turns and smooth humps in the bowl are great for pumping and really allow a rider to build and maintain speed for a long time. The island turns the bowl into a loop which makes this area of the Oroville Skatepark feel similar to a pump track.

Above and behind the main bowl area there are a few large metal ramps and a pyramid box. These metal ramps have metal frames and seams but the riding surface is a strong manufactured material so they’re not as noisy as complete metal ramps.
I was expecting metal ramps similar to the ramps at the Cheyenne Skatepark. Click here to see the Cheyenne Skatepark which has a huge street section and tons of large metal ramps (pictured below). These metal ramps are usually loud and can sometimes have a slick surface.
The skatepark starts at the large bowl then wraps around the picnic shelter and enters the street area. The street section has a lot of ramps and boxes. There is actually a banked turn on one of the ramps here which improves the overall flow of the skatepark.
Between the street section and the large bowl is where you can find the half pipe. This is a good medium sized half pipe that stands at about 5 feet. It’s a great addition to the street section of the Oroville Skatepark.
Overall Thoughts on Bedrock Skatepark in Oroville
The Bedrock Skatepark in Oroville is a good skatepark for a rider of any experience because there is a variety of obstacles that range in difficulty from very easy to hard. The mellow and chill section of the bowl blends nicely with the more difficult sections allowing for a rider to gradually take on more obstacles until they are comfortable to move up to more challenging sections.
The entire park has fun characteristics that will entertain and allow an experienced rider to be creative and have fun with their runs. I was able to spend a lot of time at this skatepark because I found the flow to be great. And the unique shape of the bowl made it fun for long continuous runs.
