Belgrade Skatepark in Montana
The Belgrade Skatepark is a compact skatepark located in Belgrade Montana. This skatepark is a great alternative to the larger Bozeman Skatepark just 15 minutes away. Both of these parks are fun to check out. The Bozeman Skatepark is the larger of the two with much more dramatic features. The Belgrade Skatepark is a quick skatepark with short features. The skatepark is inside The Lewis and Clark City Park in Belgrade Montana. The city park has a open grass and playgrounds, as well as a splash park, tennis courts, and a skatepark!
Quick Info
Directions:
From Bozeman, take I-90 west and get off at the first Belgrade exit. Turn right at the first round-about, then maintain straight through the next round-about. Then turn left onto Frontage Road. The Belgrade City Park will be on the right in 1.5 miles.
First Impressions of the Belgrade Skatepark:
The Belgrade Skatepark is a small compact cement skatepark that has ramps, rails, ledges, and banked turns. There were kids of all ages at the park with skateboards and scooters.
Pros:
Quick layout and set up great for street style pop tricks. Banked turns maintain flow around the park.
Cons:
No Bowls. Small park not great for a longboard. Very slick when windy/dusty.
Know Before you go:
Bring helmet, maybe a swimsuit, and go before school is out.
Riders Thoughts:
The Belgrade Skatepark is a quick and compact, set up great for pop kick tricks. The steep ramps on either end of the park establish a kind of back and forth flow to the park. There is a perfectly set up pyramid ramp/box/rail in the center of the park that is great for tricks in either direction. The ramp is positioned great to launch boarders to the box on one side or the rail on the other.
More About Skating the Belgrade Skatepark
Because of the back and forth flow of this park there are not a lot of continuous lines to follow through the park. Rather, this park is great for repetition of a new kick trick, or perfecting a solid plant for a rail/box grind.
Although there are not many continuous lines to follow through the park, you can find some. This is possible because of the banked turns on either end of the park. These banked turns have a very smooth transition helping riders to pump through the turn and keep some speed to the other end of the park. The wind and dust here made the cement pretty slick in some spots.
The Belgrade Skatepark has 1 set of stairs, 2 rails, ledges and ramps. The skatepark does not have any roll ins or any bowls, so it was not great for a longboard. The skatepark is pretty compact, so to make it feel more roomy, go before school lets out.
