Must-See Boise Skatepark | Rhodes Skatepark
The Boise Skatepark (Rhodes Skatepark) is a gem of a skatepark! First of all, the size of this park is super impressive – 1.28 acres of smooth cement, about 40,000 sq ft of shreddable skatepark! Then there’s the design and the impressive layout, giving the Boise Skatepark its own unique vibe. But most importantly are the many unique obstacles and sick features found all throughout this epic skatepark! We’ve been to a lot of skateparks on our travels so read on to find out why the Boise Skatepark is one of the best parks we have visited yet.
First Impressions of the Boise Skatepark
The Rhodes Skatepark in Boise Idaho is a huge skatepark built under and partly into the highway bridges above. This layout makes an extremely unique vibe and environment for a skatepark. There are cool accent lights under the bridges that continuously change which is a nice added touch. And the number of obstacles and variety of features was impressive!
Pros:
Boise Skatepark has almost any skatepark obstacle you can imagine. There are many bowls with coping and roll in areas, half pipes, street obstacles, and plenty of ramps and rails.
Cons:
Pretty busy, traffic, some attitudes.
Know Before You Go:
It is easy to spend all day at this skatepark. With such a variety of obstacles I recommend bringing a variety of boards.

Riders Thoughts: Rhodes Skatepark
I was almost overwhelmed when we arrived at the Rhodes Skatepark! There was so much going on. The environment itself left me in awe. The skatepark ramps and obstacles are built in unity with the highway above.
There are literally ramps and half pipes built into the bridge and highway overpass. On top of all that, accent lights line the bridges above and continuously change the colors of the skatepark.
The layout of this skatepark is very open with plenty of room for a ton of riders. The openness of the park is well balanced with the scattered obstacles throughout the entire park.
One side of the Boise Skatepark has a lot of different obstacles and is geared towards a street style of riding. There are plenty of ramps, boxes, and rails on this side of the park.
There are a few obstacles in this skatepark that I have never seen anywhere else. Among these include the skate crater – a small bowl that is surrounded by a smooth transitioned ramp on all sides in the middle of the park.
Shred it later… Pin it now!
The street side of the Boise Skatepark is also where you can find many vert ramps as well as boxes and half pipes built into the highway bridge supports. There are tons of areas with coping and various sizes of vert walls, great for building drop in abilities. There is an area on this side of the park that is mainly open space where I saw many people practicing pop tricks.
Throughout the park there are many smooth transitioned humps and boxes that make cruising around the Rhodes Skatepark very fun. These rounded humps around the park are great for pumping and maintaining speed through the entire park. There are a number of these features around the main large bowl side of the skatepark.
Checking out the Bowls at the Boise Skatepark
The main bowl in the Boise Skatepark is a very large bowl with various depths and entry points all around. There are roll in areas around the entire bowl with various grades and depths which allow a rider to gradually get the hang of the banked turns and vert walls in any direction. This bowl is a lot of fun because the unique shape provides riders with the opportunity to find all sorts of lines in every direction.
I really enjoy this main bowl because the high walls and the various depths of the bowl make it easy to build up speed and go fast! This is a great place to surf some cement and shred at high speeds!
There are many great athletes at the Boise Skatepark, and you can see how the depth and speed of this bowl help to launch riders all over. While we cruised around we saw a variety of great athletes, from little kids just getting the hang of boards to advanced riders airing off the tall vert ramps.
Along with the large main bowl, the Rhodes Skatepark in Boise also has another very large bowl. The bowl has a very unique shape – it’s kind of like a bean shape, but also kind of like a figure eight.
This bowl is for advanced riders due to its depth and its full coping all around. It is probably 12-15 feet deep and can be very intimidating.
The Rhodes Skatepark in Boise Idaho is a must see skatepark for anyone in the area. The park is great because of its size and the variety of obstacles making it fun for riders of any skill level. The variety of shapes and sizes of the obstacles will also help improve riders skills with the ability to gradually move up to larger obstacles when a rider is ready.
