Riders Thoughts
Bushmaster Skatepark in Flagstaff is a fun skatepark with many smooth transitions. I really enjoyed this skatepark because it is very flowy and open with smooth transitions all over the park. When you first enter through the fence of the skatepark you see the snake bowl right in front of you.
This snake bowl is a fun obstacle featuring many areas with smooth roll in opportunities. The shape of this bowl makes it easy for a rider to pump their body weight to build and maintain speed. And these characteristics make this area great for riding a longboard in a skatepark.
The rounded vert wall separates the snake bowl from the street side of Bushmaster Skatepark. The street side of this skatepark has a variety of quarter pipe heights along the perimeter of the park as well as a few boxes and ledges. There is also a pyramid box in the middle of the open street section.
Skate it Later – Pin it Now!
The back side of this area has some steep ramps and cement boxes that lead up to the top of the bowl area.
Bushmaster Skatepark has only one bowl but it is a good one. This bowl is a pretty large clover shaped bowl with a variety of depths in each of the three pockets.
Also, this bowl features coping almost all the way around, except for the roll in.
The roll in to this bowl is great because it allows a rider to drop into the bowl with a longboard and immediately build up a lot of speed to hit every corner of the bowl without having to stop momentum.
As we mentioned above, there are a few skateparks to choose from in Flagstaff. But overall, Bushmaster Skatepark is the one to choose if you’re looking for some mellow vert and a very flowy layout. If you’re looking for a skatepark with some more street obstacles you should check out Fox Glenn Skatepark. Or if you’re an experienced rider looking for some huge vert, you’ll need to check out The Basin Skatepark and BMX Park.
