Don Anema Skatepark in Northglenn | Unique Features and Fun Lines
Don Anema Memorial Skatepark is a nice 16,000 sq. ft. concrete skatepark in Northglenn Colorado. This Team Pain Skatepark offers a variety of features for both street and vert skaters. The diversity of features ensure that riders of all skill levels will enjoy spending some time here. I found that the transitions here are pretty good for longboarding in a skatepark.
First Impressions:
We first arrived at the skatepark around 9 pm, it was very crowded with a lot of rude, rambunctious kids that were up to no good… The next morning we came back and had the skatepark all to ourselves.
Pros: Open layout with a good flow and tons of obstacles.
Cons: Didn’t seem like a good atmosphere at night. People leaving trash all over and homeless people sleeping on the picnic tables in the morning.

Riders Thoughts: Northglenn Skatepark
Don Anema Skatepark in Northglenn is a fun skatepark that has a great variety of small to medium sized obstacles. The red, light grey, and dark grey cement all around the park make for a fun and unique looking skatepark design.
One of my favorite features of the Don Anema Skatepark is the unique rounded quarter pipe / octopus tentacle bowl in the corner. I have never seen a bowl quite like this. It’s like a long quarter pipe got twisted down into a circle bowl with smooth transitions. This bowl features coping along most of the top with a gradual slope down from the top towards the rest of the skatepark. It’s a fun bowl to zoom around in any direction.
Riders will find a ton of ledges, boxes, and rails scattered around the skatepark in Northglenn. Most of these obstacles are positioned pretty well to connect lines with other obstacles and features around the park. The main area of the skatepark has a pretty open layout with a number of ramps and pyramids leading riders in all directions.
There are a ton of street skating features at the Northglenn Skatepark including flat and rounded rails, cement ledges, metal ledges, ramps, and gaps.
There are a lot of unique transitions and features all over this skatepark. Creative skaters will really enjoy shredding these obstacles and skating these different transitions.
Towards the middle of the skatepark there is a wide six step stair set with a cool ramp to gap the steps.
Throughout the skatepark in Northglenn you will find a few banked turns with smooth transitions that add some flow and direction to the skatepark.

The back area of the Northglenn Skatepark is home to the large vert bowl. This bowl has a classic pool feel to it, with cement coping and tile around the tops. It has a rounded rectangular shape with a very large rounded pocket on one corner. I found that this bowl has a great flow and the shape makes it easy to pump and maintain a good speed throughout a run. This bowl was fun to longboard in, and riding up on the tiles gives a very rewarding sound!
Overall, the Don Anema Skatepark in Northglenn is a fun skatepark that riders of any experience will enjoy. Advanced riders will have fun skating these unique features and new skaters will be able to try plenty of new things to strengthen their skills!
