Downtown Salida Skatepark | Old Salida Skatepark
The old Salida Skatepark is a super simple, yet unique skatepark mostly due to the fact that it’s located right in Downtown Salida. This skatepark has been around since the 90s and was built by Team Pain Skateparks. And though there’s not a whole to it, it’s a cool spot to get in a skate sesh. The unique location of the Old Salida Skatepark is also conveniently right by the paved Monarch Spur Trail that allows for some commuting through the area on the longboard.
*If you’re in the Salida area, you might as well check out the new Centennial Skatepark located in Salida as well!*

Riders Thoughts:
The Old Salida Skatepark is such a unique skatepark because it is literally on the corner of a four way intersection right down town!
This skatepark features a large bowl with 3 pockets of varying depths. The bowl and setting of this skatepark make for a great classic pool skate session.
The flow of the bowl makes it easy for riders to build up speed and get high on the walls, but the steepness of the bowl may be intimidating to novice riders. Advanced riders will love to shred and probably thrash this bowl if they can!
Shred it Later – Pin it Now
Along one side of the large bowl there is a very small street section with a pyramid box in the corner and smooth transitioned wall adjacent. There’s not too much to this skatepark, but it’s perfect for what it is.
As you can see, the Old Downtown Salida Skatepark is a classic. It’s fun for skaters as well as pedestrians strolling around in downtown that wouldn’t typically go to a skatepark. We encountered some enthusiasm from unexpected spectators which added to the old school skate vibe that this skatepark emanates. It’s definitely worth checking out.
