Edgewater Skatepark in Lakewood, Colorado | Open Simple Layout
The Edgewater Skatepark is actually located in Lakewood, Colorado. And building the skatepark was made possible by a collaboration between the two cities in the early 2000’s. This medium sized concrete skatepark measures up at around 12,000 square feet. The simplicity and openness of this skatepark makes it good for beginners, but there is also fun to be had for advanced riders. The blue skateboarder statue makes a fun statement right at the entrance to the park!
First Impressions:
When we first got to the park we noticed the paved walking trail through the park that leads to the Edgewater Skatepark. The trail through the park is smooth but has your typical sidewalk cracks. When we reached the skatepark we noticed the open layout as well as the street obstacles and small vert transitions.
Pros: Simple layout with some street and vert obstacles.
Cons: No lights

Know Before You Go: Edgewater Skatepark is located in Walker-Branch Park. There are volleyball and basketball courts, a playground, paved walking trails, baseball fields, picnic shelter with grill, and horseshoes pits.
Riders Thoughts: Edgewater Skatepark
Edgewater Skatepark in Lakewood is a fun medium sized concrete skatepark that has numerous ramps, banked turns and a variety of obstacles. The skatepark layout is pretty open with a wide perimeter as most of the skatepark is set down in a main bowl area.
The perimeter of the skatepark provides a wide flat area for riders to cruise all the way around the park while still enjoying a number of ramps and elevation changes. This is where riders can also find street obstacles such as boxes, ledges, and rails.
The obstacles and ramps found around the perimeter give some flow to the top area of the skatepark. And the variety of ramps and banked turns give flow to the area inside the main bowl. To get down into the main bowl, riders can take a variety of ramps at a few different steepnesses, or riders can drop in from metal coping or cement ledges
Once inside the main bowl area rides will find some small to medium sized vert walls and banked turns. The bowl also provides a few pockets, a spine, and a pyramid box .

Street riders will find a variety of boxes, ledges, rails, and a few stair sets at the Edgewater Skatepark in Lakewood, Colorado. There is a total of three stair sets at this park, and they are all a little different.
The Edgewater Skatepark in Lakewood, Colorado has some flow and a decent amount of street obstacles. The size and simple layout is not very exciting for longboarding in a skatepark, but overall this is a good skatepark for learning basic skills and trying some medium sized obstacles.
