First Impressions of Grass Valley Skatepark:
Nice! As soon as we walked through the gate at the Grass Valley Skatepark I could see different lines in every direction. I get excited when I see tall vert and banked turns, but there are plenty of boxes and ledges for street riders too.
Pros: Large skatepark with great banked turns in every direction, good variety of street and vert obstacles.
Cons: Grass Valley Skatepark can get very crowded.

Riders Thoughts:
The Grass Valley Skatepark is a large cement skatepark with a pretty open layout and some great flow. The wide flat perimeter of park is great for warming up and checking out the park. The Grass Valley area is known for having some great skateboarders, so this park is set up great for traditional skateboards but you’ll encounter scooters as well. This park is also great for longboarding in a skatepark because the of the banked turns and smooth transitions.
The layout of the skatepark is sort of broken up into different sections by ramps, boxes, and banked turns. These banked turns can be found in every section of the skatepark. They make it so the different sections of the park link together well and give the skatepark some great flow.
The main area of the skatepark is set down and provides some shallow to medium sized ramps and vert. There is a great variety of transitions at the Grass Valley Skatepark, including angled ramps, cement and metal ledges, coping, and smooth cement roll ins.
The other half of the Grass Valley Skatepark has deep vert and bowls. On this side of the skatepark it’s fully lined in coping, but has a very smooth transition from the shallow side of the skatepark. This side is fun for longboarding in a skatepark. The high walls and banked turns are great for surfing the cement!

There are two parts to the deep side of the skatepark. The one side is a very deep and a simple rounded “U” shape, but the other side has a cool clover shape. This clover bowl is fun to skate because the three different pockets are spaced out and positioned well to link together. The depth of this side of the skatepark is great for building and maintaining speed to get high on the walls.
Overall the Grass Valley Skatepark is a park that any skater will enjoy. Advanced riders will have a blast because the park has great flow and diversity of obstacles. And the size of the obstacles gradually get bigger making it good for learning.

Instead of stealing chairs from the dog park why don’t you buy your own chairs?
