Hollister Skatepark | Hollister, California
The Hollister Skatepark is a medium sized skatepark with a couple of shallow bowls and a section of metal ramps. This section of ramps is open on flat ground with obstacles of various sizes. The two bowls are both shallow with primarily smooth roll ins and one section lined in coping. As we were travelling through the area, we were glad to have a skatepark to check out but the Hollister Skatepark won’t likely hold a skaters attention for long.
First Impression of Hollister Skatepark
At first glance, the Hollister Skatepark seemed like a simple, nice facility. The two separate bowl areas seemed to flow pretty well. And the smooth roll ins looked promising.
Pros:
Smooth transitions and roll ins.
Cons:
Shallow bowls, no stairs for street riders.
Know Before You Go:
No drinking fountains, bathroom was portable.

Riders Thoughts:
The Hollister Skatepark is a fun little skatepark with smooth transitions and roll ins all over. Although the skatepark is kind of small and the bowls are shallow, the park still has a pretty good flow.
There are a couple of boxes and ramps throughout the skatepark that maintain flow and provide an entrance to the bowl areas.
The shape of the bowls and banked turns make it possible to build and maintain speed around the park. Because both bowls have smooth roll ins it is easy to link the two bowls together in the same run. The one bowl has a smooth roll in on one side with coping on the other slightly deeper side.

Back behind the bowl area of the skatepark there is another area of metal ramps and a half pipe fixed on flat ground. Atop one of the boxes in this area is where you can find one of the skateparks two rails.
Overall, the Hollister Skatepark is a fun spot to cruise around on a board. The smooth transitions and roll ins make it great for riding a longboard. This is a good park for beginners to learn and also a fun spot for experienced riders to make skateboarding look easy. The size and depth of this park may get boring for an experienced vert rider.

Nice overview, haven’t ridden this one since they added the ramp section years ago.
One question: aren’t there two rails? The one behind the quarter pipe section of the shallow bowl, and the one on the box in the ramp area?

Thanks for the comment! And you’re right, there are indeed two rails, I guess I’ll edit that!
