Lone Pine Skatepark in California
The Lone Pine Skatepark in California is a relatively small skatepark with smooth cement, banked turns, ramps and rails. This skatepark is located right behind the McDonalds in Lone Pine. It is literally so close that it seems like the skatepark is in the McDonalds parking lot… it’s like the best Play Place you can imagine!
First Impressions:
After buying some grub, walking over to the Lone Pine Skatepark was exciting because I didn’t expect such a good skatepark in such a small town. As soon as I saw the smooth cement and large banked turns I was excited to start skating. It was hard not to be awed by the breathtaking backdrop of the Sierra Mountains behind the Lone Pine skatepark.
Pros:
Large banked turns, roll in, and a good flow.
Cons:
The dust and dirt made the cement slick.
Know Before you go:
Open dawn to dusk, no lights for night riding.
Directions:
The Lone Pine Skatepark is located right behind McDonalds at: 601 S Main St, Lone Pine, CA 93545. You can either park at McDonalds or there is a small dirt parking lot on the other side of the skatepark.
Riders Thoughts: Lone Pine Skatepark
The skatepark in Lone Pine California is a great little skatepark. It is super convenient to be located so close to a McD’s. That in itself is pretty cool and I’m sure they get plenty of business from skaters. Also, the skatepark has an incredible backdrop with the beautiful Sierra Nevada Mountains right behind the park.
The skatepark itself is a great park with good engineering and a great flow for a park of its size. The north side of the park is higher with a bunch of ramps and stair cases leading down to the lower level of the park. This side of the park has a bunch of boxes and rails as well.
There is also a cool giant cement skateboard obstacle/bench that adds to the skatepark vibe. The ramps on this side of the park vary in steepness and length and lead down to the other obstacles in the park.
The flat area of the Lone Pine Skatepark has a couple of ramps, rails, and a pyramid box. This area combined with the speed from the ramps on the north side is great for street tricks. A boarder with a traditional skateboard would enjoy these obstacles.

My favorite feature of the Lone Pine Skatepark is the large banked turns and vert style engineering on the south side of the park. This side of the park has two large “U” shaped bowls that share a spine.
These bowls are lined in coping on top, great for dropping in. The smooth transitions of this feature are great for riding on with a longboard. A rider can take these turns in either direction which is great for linking both sides of the skatepark in one line.
The top of this large banked turn area is elevated with a ramped box. Another great part to this side of the skatepark is the steep roll in on the west side of the feature. This roll in really allows a rider to start a line and build up speed to cruise the rest of the skatepark.
