McClatchy Skatepark in Sacramento

The McClatchy Skatepark in Sacramento California is a very simple and small skatepark. The park is a loop of smooth cement with a number of cement ramps and a few areas with coping. And there are several obstacles that make up the street section.

The skatepark is inside of the larger McClatchy Park which has a great playground for kids featuring a bunch of cool animal statues.

The park also has a frisbee golf course and plenty of open grass.

First Impression of McClatchy Skatepark:

Not too impressive of a skatepark, but a chill spot for some pop tricks on a skateboard.

Pros:
Smooth cement, small obstacles, great for learning, half pipe.

Cons:
No bowl or vert

Riders Thoughts:

The McClatchy Skatepark is small park with small features positioned in a loop. The loop gives the park some flow and the rounded humps help to gain some speed through the skatepark.

One side of the skatepark features ramps and a banked turn on a curvy section of flat cement. This is a good place for beginners to learn how to use banked turns.

The other side of the McClatchy Skatepark features street obstacles. There are a few boxes, two rails, and a set of 4 stairs. These skatepark features are small compared to many other skateparks, but it provides a good place for beginners to get the hang of skateboard basics.

The largest feature at the McClatchy Skatepark is the half pipe – at about 4 feet. This is a pretty legit size half and will definitely satisfy the needs of any skater looking for a half pipe sesh.

Overall, this small skatepark is great for any skateboard beginners or kids with boards and scooters looking to get outside for a bit. If you’re in the the Sacramento area and looking for a more advanced, rad skatepark you will have better luck at some of the other skateparks in the area.
