Longboarding Route 66 Near Oatman | Scenic Desert Downhill Run
The iconic Route 66 is probably the most famous road in the United States, so I couldn't pass up an opportunity for longboarding Route 66 near Oatman. While in Arizona we visited the cute little town of Oatman, known for their local community of burros (donkeys). While in this area of the state I realized that longboarding Route 66 was something that I should do, and Sitgreaves Pass near Oatman provided the perfect spot!

Hiking Bonita Creek Trail in Chiricahua National Monument
Chiricahua National Monument is in the southeastern corner of Arizona and is full of great hiking options! The hikes explore the rugged desert terrain complimented by some really cool, interesting geology! But there is quite a bit of history in the area as well. When we first arrived at Chiricahua National Monument we stopped at the first trail/picnic area that we saw so we could look at the map and plan our adventures. And since we were parked at the trailhead we decided to start by hiking Bonita Creek Trail to Faraway Ranch and Stafford Cabin.

Free and Fun Camping at Indian Bread Rocks | Bowie, AZ
Camping at Indian Bread Rocks is such a treat! Tis the season to head south and follow the great weather. Some desert camping is more exciting than others but this is a spot that we were happy to stay at for two weeks. Indian Bread Rocks is a BLM area in the Dos Cabezas Mountain Wilderness with several dispersed camping spots, great desert scenery and rugged mountains of granite boulders to play on.

Easy Vast Desert Camping Near Safford | Tanque Road
There are a number of great options to choose from for dispersed camping near Safford. Choose from vast desert camping on Tanque Road and Hackle Road to dispersed or developed camping near Mount Graham in Coronado National Forest. Since winter was approaching at the time that we were looking for camping near Safford, we decided to stay at lower elevation and found a nice spot camping on Tanque Road.
