Longboarding Owens Gorge Road
Longboarding Owens Gorge Road is a beautiful and super smooth run through the Inyo National Forest. The section of Owens Gorge Road that I recommend longboarding is about four miles long, losing a little over 300 feet of elevation. This makes for a pretty mellow longboard run with a slight downhill pace for most of it. And then at the last half mile of the run there is a large and steep hill section!

Experience the Otherworldly Obsidian Dome
Obsidian Dome, evidence of a volcanic explosion many years ago, is a tall dome made up large, sharp and jagged chunks of obsidian. It is not only a sight to see but a blast to climb around on and explore. The views from the top are pretty legit too!

Discover the Crowley Skatepark
The Crowley Skatepark is fun to cruise around in on a longboard because all of the vert walls have smooth transitions and banked turns. The hump in the middle of the main area really helps build up speed and has great banked turns in either direction.

The paved section of this road runs for ten miles from the CA 395 and has an elevation change of over 2,800 feet! The paved road ends, and longboarding Rock Creek Road begins, at a place called Rock Creek Pack Station - a gateway to exploring the Sierras.

Camping Near Lolo Montana
From Missoula we headed into the Lolo National Forest to find dispersed camping near Lolo. A few forest roads later we found a great place to boondock! Our new home was situated in a beautiful forested valley right next to South Fork Lolo Creek and a wide open meadow. This spot ended up being very peaceful, quiet and tranquil.
