Testing the Waterborne Skateboards Surf Adapter
Who says you can't surf in the desert? We had the opportunity to test the Waterborne Skateboards Surf Adapter out here in the desert. We've seen pictures and videos of this thing on Instagram and we had to try it out. It caught my eye when I saw the animation video of how it worked, then I saw the videos and images of people carving hard with the Surf Adapter.

Sidewinder Skate Park
The skate park in El Centro is named Sidewinder Skate Park. This was a great skate park with very smooth cement. Half of the skate park has a street layout and the other half of the park is dedicated to the large bowl. On the street section of the park there are a number of ramps, rails, stairs, and boxes.

Mud Caves!
Our favorite and most exciting hike in Anza Borrego State Park was exploring the Arroyo Tapiado Mud Caves! We parked near the information sign seen above and immediately started checking out all the branching side canyons off of the main wash. In these canyons we came upon lots of unique mud formations such as tunnels, arches, and varying sized caves. Some of the branched canyons got very narrow. And some of the arches were low enough to make you duck under.

Longboarding Yaqui Pass
The largest hill that I skated in Anza Borrego State Park was on the S-3 near Yaqui Pass Campground. The S-3 road is also called Yaqui Pass Road. This road probably has the largest hill in the park and from the pass you can head north downhill or south downhill.

Anza Borrego has a lot of open desert roads as well as some good hills for longboarding. This particular longboarding run is a mellow downhill run just outside of the Arroyo Salado Primitive Campground.

Longboarding the Santa Clara River Trail | Cottonwood Cove
There are a lot of paved trails around Saint George, Utah that were great for getting around on a longboard! During our time in the Saint George area we checked out a few of the trails (and sections of trails) on the Saint George Trail System. For our next skate sesh we picked up the Santa Clara River Trail again - starting at Cottonwood Cove Park.

Hiking Hellhole Canyon
We had a blast hiking to Hellhole Canyon. The wash was both sandy and rocky as we got closer and closer to the towering red rock walls of the canyon!
