Riders Thoughts:
From the road and from the parking lot, you can’t really see much of the Prescott Valley Skatepark. But once you walk through the gate you find tons of smooth cement with smooth transitions in every direction!
There are two large areas to the Prescott Valley Skatepark. They differ in size and depth but both areas are geared towards the vert riders style of riding.
Shallow Section of Prescott Valley Skatepark
The more shallow part of the skatepark has a number of banked turns and a variety of transitions that lead down. In this area you can find ramps and a number of smooth roll in transitions, as well as multiple areas for riders to drop in from coping or boxes/ledges. Another cool feature of this area is a spine that connects a couple rounded vert pockets.
This area is great for linking obstacles throughout a run. And this is where street riders can find boxes and a couple of rails. It’s set up great for riders learning to take banked turns and learning to get the hang of controlling their momentum. In the middle of this area, right in front of the spine, is a cool rounded hump. This is great for pumping up and maintaining speed through the skatepark. The banked turns and smooth transitions make this area a chill spot to cruise around on a longboard in the skatepark. Riders can find a box, rail, and a mellow ramp that leads to the other half of the skatepark
Deep Vert Section
The other half of the skatepark is a vert riders dream! The smooth transitions, banked turns, and tall vert walls of this area make the Prescott Valley Skatepark great for riding a longboard in a skatepark.
The multiple pockets of the Prescott Valley Skatepark really add to the great flow of the park. Riders can easily find a line that flows really well, in any direction. The angles of the park and the unique shape of the bowls and banked turns really allow riders to get creative. But this skatepark also guarantees that you can find a good line no matter where you end up.
The depth of this vert area makes it a very good place for experienced riders to have fun and to challenge themselves. In this area riders will find ledges covered mostly in coping, great for dropping straight in to some deep vert. This area of the Prescott Valley skatepark is also great for riding a longboard because there are multiple roll in points of entry to the deep bowls.
Shred it Later – Pin it Now!
One cool feature to this skatepark and this large vert area is the large rounded hump in the middle. This rounded hump provides a great place to roll in with a longboard and start a line with a good amount of speed. This feature is great in the middle of a run too because it easily allows riders to build speed by pumping and can be utilized in multiple different directions.
Along the side wall of the skatepark there is one extremely tall vert wall feature that sticks straight up about 12 feet. This is a dramatic feature feels intimidating when you stand at the very top. We were able to witness someone conquer this huge drop in for the first time and it was an exciting experience!
From this angle you can see the diversity of banked turns and smooth transitions all over the park. The shape of the pockets provide a great flow and the size of the park helps give riders endless lines.
The Prescott Valley Skatepark has a lot of smooth transitions and a very flowy feel all through out the entire park. This is great for riding a longboard in the skatepark. These features make it is easy to cruise around the smaller area of the skatepark. And the rounded features help to maintain a good speed while the ramps make an easy transition into the larger and more advanced area of the skatepark.
