Longboarding the Pueblo Skatepark in El Centro del Quinto Sol

Continuing along on our skatepark road trip through Colorado led us to Pueblo Skatepark. Pueblo Skatepark is an awesome 23,000 square foot concrete skatepark inside the larger El Centro del Quinto Sol Park. The skatepark was built in 2016 by Team Pain Skateparks with a unique layout that has multiple different sections spread out around the park. This is a large skatepark that is good for riders of any skill level. Plus, both street and vert skaters will enjoy this skatepark. While on my longboard I was able to find some good flow in every corner of the skatepark

First Impressions of Pueblo Skatepark:

When we first pulled up here I didn’t realize how big the Pueblo Skatepark actually is. Sidewalks connect the different sections of this skatepark through the park, and it took me some exploring to find it all!

Pros: Lots of street features and bowls. Plus, the skatepark is connected to the larger Fountain Creek Trail bike trail system perfect for cruising on the longboard.

Riders Thoughts: Skatepark in Pueblo El Centro del Quinto Sol

It is easy to spend all day at the skatepark in Pueblo, Colorado. There are many different features to skate here and the variety of size and difficulty levels makes it so riders of every skill level will have fun! The main section of the skatepark is a long street section with a ton of ramps, rails, boxes and ledges.

This main skatepark area has a number of smooth transitions and banked turns which adds a ton of flow to this section of the park. Usually street oriented skateparks are limiting for me since I ride a longboard. But there is a lot of flow in this area that made for some fun cement surfing with the longboard!

You can take the sidewalks from this main street section of the skatepark over to the other large areas. Here you’ll find two large bowls with another street/flow section between them. The first bowl is a steep narrow pool, complete with tile and cement pool coping.

steep bowl

This pool bowl has a pretty unique shape with two rounded corners, a big deep round pocket, and a tight little side pocket. The walls on this bowl are pretty steep and can really help get you moving fast. Riding over the tiles in this bowls provides a very satisfying rumble beneath your wheels!

There is another small flowy street section of this skatepark that connects the pool bowl with the other big bowl. This other little street section has small smooth transitions and with some cement and some metal coping areas.

This section of the skatepark has a few features that have a very “real world” street feel to them. There is a sewer pyramid, as well as some other drainage ditches and some odd transitions that look like curbs or something you’d find skating around town.

The BIG BOWL at the Pueblo Skatepark is a multi-level bowl with both cement and metal coping. The bowl gets about 10ft deep on the deep end and riders can really get cruising in this bowl! I really enjoyed going fast and getting high on the walls here. But be aware, there is a little “death box” at the top of the wall in the big pocket.

The shape of this bowl really helps riders carry their speed around which helps when trying to air out of the bowl with a longboard!

Along with the two street section and two bowls, there is also another REALLY big stair set and a flat street skating plaza area. I didn’t play too much here, but this is a great place for someone who enjoys playing on the stairs!
