Riders Thoughts:
This large skatepark has a really cool layout with a variety of elevations throughout the park. From the entrance, a snake run starts on the right and flows downhill around to the bottom of the park. The park is full of smooth pavement, banked turns, and smooth transitions making it a very fun and flowy park.
One of the main features of the Santa Clarita Skatepark is the bridge right in the middle of the skatepark.
This cool feature is easily accessed on a skateboard from the front gate. You can skate on top of the bridge and look down below into the large bowl.
The bridge has both ramps and stairs leading up and down either side making it a great feature for the center of the Santa Clarita Skatepark. The far side of the bridge has a steep descent with ramps to two different levels of platforms. These platforms also have a number of stair sets and rails that descend down to the ground level of the skatepark.
The bottom of these platforms is where the snake run comes around to an open area of the skatepark. From this area, you can connect to the other snake run area of the park.
This section will take you back towards the entrance of the skatepark where there is another open area surrounded by banked turns, vert walls, and ledges.
Skate it Later – Pin it Now
The largest bowl in the Santa Clarita Skatepark is located right in the center of the park. The bowl is a long unique shape and is surrounded in coping. The bridge feature goes over this large bowl making a tunnel in the bowl with large rounded pockets on either side of the bridge.
The flow of the Santa Clarita Skatepark is picked up right at the entrance and is maintained through out the entire park. It is easy for riders to get long lines and runs through this park because of how well the layout flows.
There are ledges, rails, and boxes placed all over the park and these all go with the flow instead of being an obstruction to a riders path. This skatepark is good for riders of any skill level because of the variety of obstacles and their spacing throughout the park. You can find small boxes, small rails, small sets of stairs and mellow short ramps. And you can also find large rails, large boxes, huge stair sets, and steep vert all over the park. So everyone will have fun at the Santa Clarita Skatepark whether you’re just beginning your skate career or if you’re a trained pro!
As a longboarder, this skatepark is good for my style of riding and surfing the cement. The smooth transitions and variety of ramps and banked turns really make it easy for a rider to build and maintain speed throughout the entire park. If I could change one thing, it would be to put a roll in area into the large bowl…
Overall, the Santa Clarita Skatepark is a great skatepark for anyone. The unique layout is like no other skatepark that we have seen before.
