Skatepark and Pump Track in Lake Elsinore | Skate Spot at Serenity Park

The Skate Spot at Serenity Park is home to both a skatepark and pump track in Lake Elsinore, California, which made this a fun stop while we were in the area. Children and adults of all skating abilities will be able to have fun at the Skate Spot, both in the skatepark and in the pump track. This pump track is actually very unique and is different than any other pump track we have visited. I had fun here with my longboard. What I could do in the skatepark was pretty limited, but I was able to have fun on the entire pump track!

First Impressions: Skate Spot at Serenity Park

When we first arrived at the skatepark and pump track in Lake Elsinore I couldn’t decide which I wanted to see first! The pump track looked really interesting and the skatepark looked pretty small. I knew I would end up spending more time on the pump track, so I checked out the skatepark first.

Pros: Skatepark and pump track

Cons: Your longboard might bottom out on a lot of the pump track humps.

Riders Thoughts: Pump Track in Lake Elsinore

The pump track in Lake Elsinore is unlike any pump track I have ever seen! This track feels very… how should I say… humpty bumpty? The humps on this track all raise up from the flat ground. This kind of gives the feeling of going over a bunch of big round speed bumps.

How is this different than other pump tracks? Let’s take the Deleo pump track for example. You can see in the photo below how the pump track is not built atop level ground like the Lake Elsinore pump track is. Instead the humps and banked turns are created and formed by the changes in the ground itself.

The feeling of this track is different than most other pump tracks, but once you get used to it you can focus on the other cool features of the track. The complex layout is one of my favorite parts of the Lake Elsinore Pump Track. This unique layout can lead riders on very unexpected routes with surprising turns and unpredictable intersections.

Neither design is right or wrong and having different designs helps to keep pump track experiences interesting. There is one pump track in the Las Vegas area that reminds me a bit of this pump track in Lake Elsinore. It’s located in the Arroyo Grande Sports Complex in Henderson. You can see from the photo below that the humps and banked turns of this pump track are also created atop level ground.

Back to the pump track in Lake Elsinore, there are a few intersections that are very unique to this pump track. You can choose to go different directions but no matter which way you choose, the route is narrow and requires riders to be aware of what’s going on.

The unpredictable layout of this pump tracks allows, and requires, riders to get a little creative in order to complete a full lap in any direction.

The humps of this park vary in size, and although they do feel a bit like speed bumps, you can still generate a good amount of speed. But be careful because the banked turns on this track are difficult to take at high speeds!

Riders Thoughts: Lake Elsinore Skatepark

The Lake Elsinore Skatepark is a pretty small concrete park that is clearly geared towards street skating. But there is also a small bowl for the vert riders.

There are ton of ramps all over the skatepark of varied length and steepness. For the size of the skatepark it’s surprising to see as much diversity in features on these ramps. For instance, you’ll find ramps with metal coping, ramps with straight metal ledges, concrete ledges, and angled transitions with ramps on either side.

Street skaters will also be happy to find a small stair set and boxes around the park, with metal and concrete ledges.

There is a pretty cool gap feature on one side of the Lake Elsinore Skatepark that captured my attention. I didn’t get to see anyone attempt the gap, and it’s not an ideal trick for my longboard with no tail… but I think it would be a cool trick to be able to do! There’s a similar feature in the street section of the Lake Havasu Skatepark.

For those who enjoy grind tricks, there are a number of rails around the park, both flat and rounded, angled and straight. Most of the transitions in the skatepark are pretty flat and angular. But there is one rounded hump that riders can use to build speed during their run.

For the vert skaters, there’s a small bowl with rounded corners and a deeper round pocket. It’s not much vert but it’s got some flow and a change in depth, fully lined in coping.
