Riders Thoughts:
The Gunnison Skatepark is a small cement skatepark with a variety of small to medium features. There is a number of small ramps, quarter pipes, stairs, and rails. These obstacles are good for street style riders to perform jump tricks and small grinds.
As you approach the skatepark you can’t help but notice the large wood structure. This structure forms a platform for bikes to enter the dirt pump track. This is a very cool feature of the Gunnison Skatepark that makes it different than many other skateparks.
The size of this skatepark and the features make it a good park for beginners and kids. There is a variety of transitions for riders to experience at this skatepark, from angled ramps, to coping and roll in areas.

The largest vert wall in the park has a cool roll in area which kind of feels like a steep hill. This is a fun feature and the size of the obstacle gives riders a chance to pick up a good amount of speed. Unfortunately, the layout is not set up to flow and carry the speed through the park.
There are two bowls at the Gunnison Skatepark. Both bowls are lined with cement coping all the way around. The larger of the bowls has three pockets and a variety of depths. The smaller bean shaped pool bowl has a consistent pretty shallow depth. This is a great bowl for learning how to drop in and for learning the basics of riding in a bowl.
Overall, the Gunnison Skatepark is a great skatepark for street skating and beginners. The lack of flow and large obstacles make it hard to ride a longboard in the skatepark. An experienced skateboarder can definitely have fun here.
