Riders Thoughts:
The skatepark in Monticello is loaded full of great cement obstacles geared towards the street style tricks. The smooth cement provides a great surface for skateboarding and there are a number of different transition types for riders to use.
The flat perimeter of the Monticello Skatepark gives riders an opportunity to skate a lap around the park and check out each of the obstacles and different areas. The main area of the skatepark has a variety of transitions including coping, ramps, roll in areas, and multiple sets of stairs.
There are a number of cement boxes and pyramids throughout the skatepark. Most of these boxes are pretty steep, which provides advanced riders with speed and a good launch ramp. The steep angles are a bit harsh for new riders and beginners.
Skate it Later – Pin it Now
The skatepark in Monticello provides riders with a small vert area with a few smooth banked turns. This area is good for dropping in off the coping, but the odd placement of some cement obstacles causes a disruption in the riders flow.
Cement boxes, metal ledges, coping, and a bunch of different rails provide skateboarders with plenty of options for grind tricks.
Along with all these obstacles, the Monticello Skatepark also features a great cement half pipe. The half pipe features two different levels on both sides and has sharp cement angles with no coping.
