Hiking Lassen Peak is a very popular trail in Lassen Volcanic National Park. Not only is it the highest point within the park at 10,457 feet, but it is also a great way to experience amazing panoramic views of the area! Warner Valley Trailhead in Lassen National Park
Hiking in Lassen Volcanic National Park has all of the intrigue of a national park but the solitude and serenity of the wilderness, even at its main attractions. Warner Valley Trailhead is an access point to the adventures and surprises that lie in the south central section of the park. The trails in the Warner Valley area of the park that we were eager to check out were Boiling Springs Lake, Terminal Geyser, and Devil's Kitchen.

Hiking Brokeoff Mountain | Lassen Volcanic National Park
There are several peaks to summit in the national park so for our first peak in the park we started with Brokeoff Mountain. Brokeoff Mountain is a remnant of the parks only composite volcano. It stands at 9,236 feet making it the second highest peak in Lassen Volcanic National Park.

Lassen Volcanic National Park is an area of Northern California that appears mostly blanketed in beautiful green forest with an active underground hydrothermal system. One of the most evident and dramatic examples of this hydrothermal activity in Lassen Volcanic National Park is Bumpass Hell Trail.

Mill Creek Falls in Lassen Volcanic National Park
On our first day going into the park we stopped at the Kohm Yah-mah-nee Visitor Center. We found that there was a trailhead that left from the parking lot to Mill Creek Falls. So from there, we headed off on our first hike in Lassen Volcanic National Park.

Rush Creek Trail: Horsetail Falls and Agnew Lake
From the June Lake Loop, as you near Silver Lake, you may notice a huge rushing waterfall running over the granitic mountainside. When we first noticed Horsetail Falls, the powerful flow was impressive and we wanted to get a closer look! So we set off on a quick day hike in the June Lake area and followed Rush Creek Trail up to Agnew Lake. And we succeeded in getting that closer look at Horsetail Falls!

Backpacking Peeler Lake Loop | Hoover Wilderness
For our finale in the eastern Sierras for the season, we decided on backpacking Peeler Lake Loop. Peeler Lake is in the Hoover Wilderness of the eastern Sierras near Bridgeport, California. This Hoover Wilderness borders the Yosemite National Park and the elevation ranges from between 7,000-12,000 feet. We've never had the chance to explore the Hoover Wilderness so we were excited see a whole new beautiful area of the always stunning Sierra Nevadas.

Twenty Lakes Basin | Saddlebag Trailhead
One hike that truly showcases the beauty of this area has to be the Twenty Lakes Basin Trail. As we were hiking Twenty Lakes Basin, the beauty was almost unfathomable! It was like I couldn't believe I was really here, really seeing this seriously stunning scenery.
