Camping Near Frazier Falls | Gold Lake Highway
This entire Gold Lake Highway gem of an area was completely new to us so of course we had never seen or even heard of Frazier Falls either. Although we were just excited to find dispersed camping in the area we didn't know it but we were in for a treat! Camping near Frazier Falls ended up being so much more than just your typical free camp spot! And a great location for getting out and seeing more of this beautiful area.

Free Camping Near Truckee | Forest Road 07
Believe it or not, you can find free camping near Truckee! There are a number of great dispersed camp spots off Jackson Meadows Road, or Forest Road 07. Several forest roads branch off of the main Forest Road 07 leading to lakes, trails and pretty sights. For those of you car/tent camping, there are more options found on these forest roads. If you're looking for dispersed camping near Truckee with a rig, then Forest Road 0720 is probably your best bet.

Dispersed Camping at Kyburz Flat | Tahoe National Forest
Kyburz Flat is a beautiful area for dispersed camping with an appealing combination of wide open meadows and wooded areas. The large grassy meadows are great for wildlife viewing where you'll primarily encounter a variety of migratory birds as well as deer, chipmunks and squirrels. And as we explored the woods while camping at Kyburz Flat we discovered so many different types and colors of wildflowers.

Owens River Road Dispersed Camping Near Mammoth Lakes
If you're looking for dispersed camping near Mammoth Lakes then camping on Owens River Road is a great option. Owens River Road is a well known dispersed camping area but luckily there are a lot of spots to choose from! There are spots that will accomodate any size rig and some will even accomodate a group of rigs. For the most part, camping on Owens River Road consists of dirt spots nestled among the tall pines with great surrounding scenery. Camping on Owens River Road is a great free option with the convenience of unlimited recreation opportunities in every direction!

After about 30 miles from Twentynine Palms lies the Sheephole Valley Wilderness. If being alone in the beautiful vast desert with no others in sight sounds appealing, then dispersed camping in Sheephole Valley Wilderness is a great option for you! No service, incredible stars, infinite washes to follow, and the random rock mountains to climb up are a few things that make free camping in Sheephole Valley Wilderness so awesome.

Dispersed Camping in Turtle Mountain Wilderness
The Turtle Mountain Wilderness is a protected area of Mohave Desert that ranges from sprawling shrubs and washes to eroded cliffs and dramatic volcanic plugs. Camping in Turtle Mountain Wilderness is a great way to experience the area. The peaceful natural setting is a relaxing place to set up camp but it also provides a good opportunity to hike and explore the Mopah Range as well as spot wildlife.

Camping on Homestake Road made for an awesome two week home base near several trailheads that lead to some seriously incredible beauty! And the camp spots along this road are great with a nice variety of spots to choose from for tent camping and larger rigs alike.

Free Camping Near Leadville | Halfmoon Creek Road
There aren't many options for dispersed camping near Leadville, especially with a trailer. But luckily, we found Halfmoon Creek Road. This forest road is full of great dispersed camp spots right by Halfmoon Creek. And there are some epic trailheads that share this road as well!
