From the June Lake Loop, as you near Silver Lake, you may notice a huge rushing waterfall running over the granitic mountainside. When we first noticed Horsetail Falls, the powerful flow was impressive and we wanted to get a closer look! So we set off on a quick day hike in the June Lake area and followed Rush Creek Trail up to Agnew Lake. And we succeeded in getting that closer look at Horsetail Falls!

Backpacking Peeler Lake Loop | Hoover Wilderness
For our finale in the eastern Sierras for the season, we decided on backpacking Peeler Lake Loop. Peeler Lake is in the Hoover Wilderness of the eastern Sierras near Bridgeport, California. This Hoover Wilderness borders the Yosemite National Park and the elevation ranges from between 7,000-12,000 feet. We've never had the chance to explore the Hoover Wilderness so we were excited see a whole new beautiful area of the always stunning Sierra Nevadas.

Longboarding Owens Gorge Road
Longboarding Owens Gorge Road is a beautiful and super smooth run through the Inyo National Forest. The section of Owens Gorge Road that I recommend longboarding is about four miles long, losing a little over 300 feet of elevation. This makes for a pretty mellow longboard run with a slight downhill pace for most of it. And then at the last half mile of the run there is a large and steep hill section!

Experience the Otherworldly Obsidian Dome
Obsidian Dome, evidence of a volcanic explosion many years ago, is a tall dome made up large, sharp and jagged chunks of obsidian. It is not only a sight to see but a blast to climb around on and explore. The views from the top are pretty legit too!

Discover the Crowley Skatepark
The Crowley Skatepark is fun to cruise around in on a longboard because all of the vert walls have smooth transitions and banked turns. The hump in the middle of the main area really helps build up speed and has great banked turns in either direction.
