Fantasy Canyon | Unusual Awesome Weathered Sandstone
Fantasy Canyon is a unique off the beaten path destination located near the dinosaur diamond that surrounds Vernal. Take a break from the dinosaurs and check out these odd, intricate sandstone formations and hoodoos artfully shaped by weathering and erosion. This small, concentrated area of quizzical formations is a really cool to see.

McDonald Creek Canyon Trail is a beautiful, scenic hike among towering canyon walls and colorful wildflowers. The gentle trail conditions through the canyon allow you to look around and enjoy the everchanging scenery. This quiet canyon adventure passes cool rock formations, colorful landscape views and even Fremont Indian pictographs before eventually reaching the railroad along the Colorado River. McDonald Creek Canyon Trail is a mild relatively easy to access yet rewarding hike in the McInnis Canyon National Conservation Area.

Hiking Purgatory Trail to the Animas River
Purgatory Trail is a great day hike that descends into a gorgeous canyon, follows Cascade Creek and parallels it from high up along the mountainside, then drops you down to the unreal blue colored Animas River. And the river setting is nestled in a gorgeous mountain setting, perfect for cooling off on a hot day!

Hiking Tom’s Creek | Coconino National Forest
We settled into our new camp spot then headed out to check out the area. That's when we found Tom's Creek! And you usually can't go wrong hiking near or to water. We found a spot to park then followed the creek upstream through the pretty, green and wooded canyon.

I'll start out by saying that hiking Point Trail in the West Clear Creek Wilderness is nothing short of an incredibly gorgeous, jaw-dropping adventure! West Clear Creek Wilderness is a stunning, rugged, dramatic, beautiful canyon carved out by the crystal clear West Clear Creek. After descending into the canyon, follow the water as it exposes beauty around every bend!

West Clear Creek Trail | Bullpen Road
This trail provides access into the incredible, narrow and rugged canyon of West Clear Creek Wilderness. This wilderness area follows a clean, rushing creek through a canyon of luscious cottonwoods and gorgeous red rocks. There are numerous perfect swimming holes, rock hopping opportunities, and stunning scenery that will make you wish you prepared for an overnight trip instead of a hike!

Free Camping at Logandale Trails
Camping at Logandale Trails was such a treat in an amazing area that we actually postponed venturing into the state park for a couple days just so we could explore the area around camp. Rattlesnake Canyon Hike in Joshua Tree National Park
There are so many awesome features to explore in Joshua Tree but it's always a treat to find hikes with water while on a desert adventure. The Rattlesnake Canyon hike is a really fun and unique hiking experience where you'll want to play all day (and maybe even take a dip)!

Camping Near Boise at Swan Falls
We stumbled upon Swan Falls Dam free camping when we were looking for free camping near Boise. All of the Swan Falls designated camping is tucked way down at the bottom of canyon. There are towering 700 feet cliff walls on either side of the canyon and the Snake River runs through it.

Camping Near Bozeman – Hyalite Canyon
A quick half hour drive from Bozeman will lead you to the mouth of beautiful Hyalite Canyon. From here you'll meander along the curves of Hyalite Creek as it snakes through the pretty forested canyon. Turn onto Jeep Road and notice the numbered designated Forest Service camp sites.
