Must See Things to Do in Dinosaur National Monument
Dinosaur National Monument is a bit off the beaten path but well worth the journey! The history of the dinosaur bones found in this area and the abundance of remaining dinosaur bones is truly a sight to see. And the beautiful landscapes encompassed in Dinosaur National Monument are also well worth exploring. It's a very naturally rich area with gorgeous geology, lush landscapes and the rushing Yampa River cutting through colorful dramatic canyons.

Mud Caves!
Our favorite and most exciting hike in Anza Borrego State Park was exploring the Arroyo Tapiado Mud Caves! We parked near the information sign seen above and immediately started checking out all the branching side canyons off of the main wash. In these canyons we came upon lots of unique mud formations such as tunnels, arches, and varying sized caves. Some of the branched canyons got very narrow. And some of the arches were low enough to make you duck under.

Exploring Ding and Dang Canyons
Ding and Dang Canyon is an adventurous nine mile lollipop that enters one narrow canyon before exiting and following the next canyon back to the same turn off. We couldn't wait to see the geology, narrow slot sections and obstacles this trail had to offer!

Exploring Diablo Canyon in New Mexico
To get to the Diablo Canyon free camp spot we drove (slowlyyy) for seven miles down a very bumpy but well maintained road. It felt like we were driving on cattle guard the entire time. After shaking up the house real good we finally made it! We got there after dark but easily found a spot to camp. When we woke up the next morning we were greeted with an amazing view of Diablo Canyon! The canyon was gorgeous, the camping was free, and there was only on other couple at the ‘campground’.
