Hiking in Crested Butte | Hiking Teocalli Peak
Hiking Teocalli Peak is a steep, challenging adventure to a very rewarding summit! The views from atop Teocalli are truly incredible - extremely beautiful, vast and surprisingly colorful. We had done a bit of hiking in the Crested Butte area but we had yet to experience a Colorado summit. And there are so many trails and peaks to choose from in the area! We were really happy with our decision to hike Teocalli Peak.

Rustler Gulch Trail | Hiking in Crested Butte
Rustler Gulch Trail in the Maroon Bells - Snowmass Wilderness leads through a beautiful valley full of wildflowers and towering mountains on either side. Branch off to a gorgeous waterfall and continue on to picnic among Pika in the Upper Basin.

Hiking Beckwith Pass Trail | Kebler Pass Road
Since we were camped about a mile from the Beckwith Pass Trailhead, we thought we would check it out. We figured we couldn't go wrong with a pass hike. Or any hike in the mountains of Colorado really. Although it wasn't quite what we expected, the best part of the hike was when we experienced the unexpected. Backpacking Oh Be Joyful is an incredible adventure near Crested Butte. The trail leads through the lush, colorful Oh Be Joyful Valley and splits to two gorgeous destinations: Blue Lake and Oh Be Joyful Pass. Both are unbelievably scenic and beautiful!

Big Mine Skatepark in Crested Butte, CO
The Big Mine Skatepark in Crested Butte is a fun cement skatepark that makes a great option for longboarding in a skatepark. The Big Mine skatepark is medium sized compared to other skateparks. But the space in this skatepark is very well utilized by a variety of obstacles that accommodate both street and vert styles of skating. Check it out!

Crested Butte Camping (Free!) | Kebler Pass Camping
With the major task of replacing the roof on our travel trailer out of the way, we were ready for some Colorado adventures! And we set off to find free camping near Crested Butte so we'd have a good home base for exploring the beauty in the area. So from our camp spot in Montrose, we headed up to Kebler Pass Road. It was exciting to watch as the scenery transitioned from dry and shrubby to green and mountainous! And we found some great dispersed camping options in the area.
