Dispersed Camping Near Dinosaur National Monument | Blue Mountain Road
Blue Mountain Road is a long road full of great options for dispersed camping near Dinosaur National Monument. Blue Mountain Road can be accessed from the 40 in Utah or from Harpers Canyon Road in the Colorado side of the monument. While we were in the area, we experienced the top and bottom (or north and south, high and low) options for dispersed camping on Blue Mountain Road. They were very different experiences. So we'll provide detailed information for both of these options.

Boondocking in the Dragoon Mountains | FR 687 Camping Near Tombstone
The Dragoon Mountains are located in Coronado National Forest just outside of Tombstone, Arizona. Once in the national forest, there are numerous dispersed camp spots on Forest Road 687 that are great for boondocking in the Dragoon Mountains! This area is beautiful, fun, accessible and admittedly a bit popular among recreationists. The golden grasslands and rugged rocky mountains make for an incredibly scenic backyard!

Camping at Las Cienegas National Conservation Area is an incredibly relaxing and serene experience. The setting feels a million miles from anywhere with sprawling golden grasslands dotted with mesquite trees and mountainous terrain in the surrounding area. Las Cienegas National Conservation Area encompasses over 45,000 acres of beautiful rolling grasslands and woodlands. And thanks to the year-round flow of Cienega Creek, this protected area supports a great diversity of thriving plant and animal life.

Free and Fun Camping at Indian Bread Rocks | Bowie, AZ
Camping at Indian Bread Rocks is such a treat! Tis the season to head south and follow the great weather. Some desert camping is more exciting than others but this is a spot that we were happy to stay at for two weeks. Indian Bread Rocks is a BLM area in the Dos Cabezas Mountain Wilderness with several dispersed camping spots, great desert scenery and rugged mountains of granite boulders to play on.

Easy Vast Desert Camping Near Safford | Tanque Road
There are a number of great options to choose from for dispersed camping near Safford. Choose from vast desert camping on Tanque Road and Hackle Road to dispersed or developed camping near Mount Graham in Coronado National Forest. Since winter was approaching at the time that we were looking for camping near Safford, we decided to stay at lower elevation and found a nice spot camping on Tanque Road. Free Camping Near the Sierra Buttes | Gold Lake Highway
After spending some time exploring the northern Gold Lake Highway in Plumas National Forest, we still had more to see and we weren't quite ready to leave the area. So that's when we headed to the southern section of Gold Lake Highway in Tahoe National Forest. And we were stoked to find that there were actually options for free camping near the Sierra Buttes. To find this spot, we actually asked some rangers about any dispersed camping in the area and they pointed us to this spot.

After spending a few weeks exploring some great spots in Tahoe National Forest, we decided to head north to check out the free camping near Quincy. As we were driving through the area we noticed that there are plenty of dirt forest roads to choose from. And different than a lot of areas, it took us no time at all to find a nice and easily accessible spot for camping near Quincy.

Camping Near Frazier Falls | Gold Lake Highway
This entire Gold Lake Highway gem of an area was completely new to us so of course we had never seen or even heard of Frazier Falls either. Although we were just excited to find dispersed camping in the area we didn't know it but we were in for a treat! Camping near Frazier Falls ended up being so much more than just your typical free camp spot! And a great location for getting out and seeing more of this beautiful area.

Free Camping Near Truckee | Forest Road 07
Believe it or not, you can find free camping near Truckee! There are a number of great dispersed camp spots off Jackson Meadows Road, or Forest Road 07. Several forest roads branch off of the main Forest Road 07 leading to lakes, trails and pretty sights. For those of you car/tent camping, there are more options found on these forest roads. If you're looking for dispersed camping near Truckee with a rig, then Forest Road 0720 is probably your best bet.
