Free Camping Near Sloat | McDermott Ravine Road
Across the 89 in Plumas National Forest we found several good dispersed camp spots on the McDermott Ravine Forest Road . Many of the spots in this area are among the pretty wooded area with a mix of manzanita, conifers and oaks. We found this spot to be a bit off the beaten path yet easily accessible and we met a local who pointed us in the direction of the local Sloat swim hole on the Feather River!

Free Camping Near Quincy | Bucks Lake Road
After spending a few weeks exploring some great spots in Tahoe National Forest, we decided to head north to check out the free camping near Quincy. As we were driving through the area we noticed that there are plenty of dirt forest roads to choose from. And different than a lot of areas, it took us no time at all to find a nice and easily accessible spot for camping near Quincy.

Camping Near Frazier Falls | Gold Lake Highway
This entire Gold Lake Highway gem of an area was completely new to us so of course we had never seen or even heard of Frazier Falls either. Although we were just excited to find dispersed camping in the area we didn't know it but we were in for a treat! Camping near Frazier Falls ended up being so much more than just your typical free camp spot! And a great location for getting out and seeing more of this beautiful area.

Dispersed Camping at Kyburz Flat | Tahoe National Forest
Kyburz Flat is a beautiful area for dispersed camping with an appealing combination of wide open meadows and wooded areas. The large grassy meadows are great for wildlife viewing where you'll primarily encounter a variety of migratory birds as well as deer, chipmunks and squirrels. And as we explored the woods while camping at Kyburz Flat we discovered so many different types and colors of wildflowers.

Owens River Road Dispersed Camping Near Mammoth Lakes
If you're looking for dispersed camping near Mammoth Lakes then camping on Owens River Road is a great option. Owens River Road is a well known dispersed camping area but luckily there are a lot of spots to choose from! We travel with the seasons and we often find ourselves in the Las Vegas area for one reason or another. So the free camping near Las Vegas on the dry lake bed can be a really convenient spot for a night or two in the area. Being about 20 miles from Las Vegas, this spot has plenty of room and is so wide open making it a safe bet for rigs of all sizes.

The Turtle Mountain Wilderness is a protected area of Mohave Desert that ranges from sprawling shrubs and washes to eroded cliffs and dramatic volcanic plugs. Camping in Turtle Mountain Wilderness is a great way to experience the area. The peaceful natural setting is a relaxing place to set up camp but it also provides a good opportunity to hike and explore the Mopah Range as well as spot wildlife.
