Rabbits Ear Trail is a rewarding hike in McInnis Canyon National Conservation Area. The trail is a lollipop loop that climbs a ridge decorated in colorful wildflowers up to Rabbit Ear Mesa. Once atop the mesa, the trail becomes more level and loops around the rim granting vast views overlooking the surrounding area.

Hiking Purgatory Trail to the Animas River
Purgatory Trail is a great day hike that descends into a gorgeous canyon, follows Cascade Creek and parallels it from high up along the mountainside, then drops you down to the unreal blue colored Animas River. I'll start out by saying that hiking Point Trail in the West Clear Creek Wilderness is nothing short of an incredibly gorgeous, jaw-dropping adventure! West Clear Creek Wilderness is a stunning, rugged, dramatic, beautiful canyon carved out by the crystal clear West Clear Creek. After descending into the canyon, follow the water as it exposes beauty around every bend!

Camping Near Lolo Montana
From Missoula we headed into the Lolo National Forest to find dispersed camping near Lolo. A few forest roads later we found a great place to boondock! Our new home was situated in a beautiful forested valley right next to South Fork Lolo Creek and a wide open meadow. This spot ended up being very peaceful, quiet and tranquil.

Camping Near Boise at Swan Falls
We stumbled upon Swan Falls Dam free camping when we were looking for free camping near Boise. All of the Swan Falls designated camping is tucked way down at the bottom of canyon. There are towering 700 feet cliff walls on either side of the canyon and the Snake River runs through it.

Exploring Rio Grande Del Norte National Monument
With an abundance of hikes and even more spectacular views, the Rio Grande del Norte National Monument is definitely worth experiencing. It’s a beautiful area with lots to see and do for free or for a small fee! And it was not crowded like many places tend to be.

Exploring Middle McCloud Falls
The descent to Middle McCloud Falls was a nice dirt trail through the woods on easy to follow switchbacks. The river could be seen down below as we hiked. And after a bunch of switchbacks, there it was!
