Fantasy Canyon is a unique off the beaten path destination located near the dinosaur diamond that surrounds Vernal. Take a break from the dinosaurs and check out these odd, intricate sandstone formations and hoodoos artfully shaped by weathering and erosion. This small, concentrated area of quizzical formations is a really cool to see.

Free and Fun Camping at Indian Bread Rocks | Bowie, AZ
Camping at Indian Bread Rocks is such a treat! Tis the season to head south and follow the great weather. Some desert camping is more exciting than others but this is a spot that we were happy to stay at for two weeks. Indian Bread Rocks is a BLM area in the Dos Cabezas Mountain Wilderness with several dispersed camping spots, great desert scenery and rugged mountains of granite boulders to play on.

We absolutely love hiking and rock scrambling in Joshua Tree National Park! While we were camping at Sheephole Wilderness we headed out to explore the area and we ventured into an off the beaten path hike in Joshua Tree National Park. We were in a granite boulder heaven! Dispersed Camping in Sheephole Valley Wilderness
After about 30 miles from Twentynine Palms lies the Sheephole Valley Wilderness. If being alone in the beautiful vast desert with no others in sight sounds appealing, then dispersed camping in Sheephole Valley Wilderness is a great option for you! No service, incredible stars, infinite washes to follow, and the random rock mountains to climb up are a few things that make free camping in Sheephole Valley Wilderness so awesome.

Hiking Red Mountain Trail Near Flagstaff
Red Mountain Trail is a short hike though junipers that ends at an amazing cinder cone! After a volcanic explosion, a large natural amphitheater was formed with nearly vertical 800 feet walls. The erosion over time has created amazing hoodoo fomations and awesome side canyons to check out!

Hiking to an Oasis on Black Canyon Trail
Black Canyon Trail is near Cottonwood, AZ and off most peoples radars with the extremely popular (and beautiful) Sedona area being so near. Hiking Black Rock Canyon trail was enjoyable from the get go but got better and better! Starting out on this hike, it would be hard to guess that it leads to such a stunning and gorgeous oasis lined canyon!

As we were looking for the next hike to do in the Prescott area we found Little Granite Mountain Loop. We though we couldn't go wrong with a name like that! Granite. Mountain. Loop. Sounded right up our alley! Watson Lake Hiking – Flume and Watson Dam Trailhead
Not only can you hike and circumnavigate Watson Lake on Watson Lake Loop Trail but you can explore even more of these incredible Joshua Tree-esque rocks from the Flume and Watson Lake Trailhead! Find a waterfall on Watson Dam Trail, stair step your way up Flume Canyon Trail to find impressive views of Watson Lake below. Get off trail, climb around, take side adventures, find water holes and explore as you reach other little trails such as Secret Cove.

Experience the Otherworldly Obsidian Dome
Obsidian Dome, evidence of a volcanic explosion many years ago, is a tall dome made up large, sharp and jagged chunks of obsidian. It is not only a sight to see but a blast to climb around on and explore. The views from the top are pretty legit too!
