The Spoke Pump Track in South Jordan | Great Flow
The Spoke is a combination bike park and asphalt pump track in South Jordan, Utah. The pump track at The Spoke is designed and built by none other than Velosolutions, therefore it’s great! This sprawling pump track is smooth, fun and has endless flow. I found the smooth transitions and banked turns of The Spoke pump track to be perfect for longboarding. With the right longboard, cruising the flow of the pump track can feel like surfing the asphalt.
First Impressions: The Spoke Pump Track in South Jordan
When we first arrived at The Spoke Pump Track in South Jordan I was very surprised by the setting. The pump track is located in the middle of a residential neighborhood, like almost literally in their front yards. There is no parking lot and no bathrooms, but the pump track itself is amazing and I knew I would be able to go fast!
Pros: Amazing track layout, banked turns, and smooth transitions.
Cons: Some gravel and no bathrooms

Know Before You Go: First rule of The Spoke Pump Track: “For Daybreak Residents and their guests only”. So, if you go here, please be very respectful. The pump track is located in Highlands Park Village (neighborhood) in Daybreak (master planned residential community) in South Jordan. And you’re supposed to live here to use this facility. I think this is private property and it would be easy for them to install an entrance gate to the community. So be very respectful of the facility, other athletes and the surrounding community. No restrooms, no lights, open dawn to dusk.
At The Spoke you will find a drinking fountain/water refill station, a few benches, and a bike fixing station with tools and an air pump.
Riders Thoughts: Pump Track in South Jordan
The Spoke Pump Track in South Jordan is one of the best pump tracks in Utah. When we arrived, like I mentioned, we were surprised by the extremely suburban neighborhood location. It reminded me of the neighborhood pump track in Eagle Mountain. We initially found this on Google maps and couldn’t wait to check it out. I snapped a photo of the rules like I normally would for the blog but didn’t read the harsh reality of rule number one. Unfortunately, the amazing layout just isn’t enough to be the best pump track in Utah when you find out that you’re not even allowed there. Ignorance is bliss so I longboarded here to my hearts content. I found the layout and the features here to be ideal for longboarding a pump track.
First, I cruised around a little bit to get a feel for the layout and transitions of this track. The features of this pump track are designed perfectly for going really fast. But before I attempted anything high speed I decided to get the broom and sweep up all the gravel. There were a few areas of the track that had A LOT of fine gravel and I don’t like crashing, so I played it safe.
The track is very large and has a unique layout with tons of humps and banked turns. The track provides riders with a number of opportunities to take large banked turns, both left and right in a single lap.
The size of this pump track in South Jordan is one main reason why it is so much fun – this track is big. Also, the fact that there are no directional arrows adds to the fun of the track. This allows riders the freedom to create their lines, to “cross over” and take turns in opposite directions.
Shred it Later – Pin it Now!
We were lucky enough to have the pump track to ourselves, but I can imagine this pump track being a little chaotic when there is traffic.
The Spoke provides features that are good for riders of different skill levels. Advanced athletes as well as small children on strider bikes can have fun here. The features flow really well and there are routes to avoid all of the steep turns if desired.
The Spoke has a few features that are unique to this track. I found the shape of the turn in the back corner of the track to be a little different. It really kept me on my toes and gave me a sensation that I haven’t experienced at other pump tracks.
The Spoke’s name is a reference to bicycle rim spoke. In addition to the pump track, there are also some trails and dirt single tracks incorporated throughout the community. And from what we saw, there is mostly a bike or scooter crowd here. We didn’t see any other boarders, but if you were to ride a longboard here I would recommend one of our bamboo/fiberglass composite longboards because the flex and reactiveness make the ideal vessel for surfing a pump track!
This is a big pump track, and I think the freedom to create a new route every lap gives riders endless opportunities to shred! I think it would be easy to spend all day here (because we did), or it would be easy to skate here every single day if you lived in this neighborhood.
