Experienced skaters will enjoy this fun, compact skatepark. The Truckee Skatepark is made of a unique brownish red cement and has some fun transitions and good vert. Riders Thoughts

There are a few unique features of the Truckee Skatepark that riders will notice right away. First is the unique brownish red surface and the second is the compact size of the skatepark layout. The third thing riders will notice is that there is one large bowl that makes up the majority of the skatepark.

The Truckee Skatepark is littered with different transitions and entry points into the large bowl. Many riders start their runs into the large bowl from the top of the ramped pyramid box. From here riders enter the bowl from the steeply smooth transitioned peninsula. This peninsula is an important feature because it provides an versatile entry point into the bowl. And it also helps to create some shape to the layout by separating the bowl into separate pockets. Although the transitions are rounded, they’re still pretty steep. So it is best to take this transition at an angle when longboarding in the Truckee Skatepark.

The shape of the Truckee Skatepark bowl is unique because there are many different pockets and banked turns around that link together very well. It is easy for riders to take many or all of these turns in a single run creating fun long lines. Although there is a lot of vert and banked turns here, the entire park is pretty compact. And as a result, it can be a very fast skatepark causing riders to make split decisions and follow lines in either direction.

Longboarding in the Truckee Skatepark is fun because the park is pretty compact and the smooth transitions quickly change your direction. When riding a longboard in the skatepark, riders gain speed very fast and the compact layout makes it so you really have to think and react very quickly to the tight turns.

Along the perimeter, the Truckee Skatepark provides a few obstacles for street riders. These include a rail, some ledges, and couple cement boxes. The rail is cool because it starts tall and transitions down at an angle to a shorter side.

Riders will also find a small stand alone bowl. This bowl is a little square bowl with rounded corners and is fully lined in coping. This bowl provides riders with a small almost half pipe feel when skating. And it shares a spine with the larger main bowl.

On the perimeter of the left side of the Truckee Skatepark riders will find a small box with a ramp on either side and a few small ledges wrapped in metal. The large bowl has two large round pockets on this side of the skatepark and this side of the bowl is lined in coping.

The long back wall of the Truckee Skatepark provides riders with a long smooth transitioned wall as well as a great roll in spot. This roll in area is lined up perfectly to give riders an ideal start into the bowl with opportunities for lines in either direction.

The layout of this skatepark is unique and a fun experience to skate. There are a few different spots in the bowl that are lined up perfectly to launch riders out of the bowl.

The small size and compact layout of the Truckee Skatepark can quickly make it seem like a very crowded skatepark. Sometimes it can be a little hectic, but being patient and taking turns help with the flow of the park.
