Wild Rose Skatepark | Sacramento Skatepark
Wild Rose Skatepark in Sacramento California is a cool little skatepark that has a great flow. This is a simple and small skatepark, but it has some good ramps and boxes as well as a cool snake bowl section. The park is inside the larger Wild Rose Park, which has a community garden and other play areas for the neighborhood children.
First Impressions of Wild Rose Skatepark:
It is easy to notice the triangular shape to the Wild Rose Skatepark, this triangular shape helps to guide the traffic in one direction. The skatepark walls and ramps flow together very well, but they are pretty short which
can make it easy to go too fast for the bowl area.
Pros:
Smooth transitions and fun snake bowl.
Cons:
A good amount of kids, kinda small.
Know Before You Go:
Open 8am – sunset (no lights for night riding) and no bikes allowed.
Directions:
The skatepark is located in the middle of a neighborhood in the Natomas Creek area. On the map, just east of the I-5 and HWY-99 confluence.
The Wild Rose Skatepark Address:
5200 Kankakee Drive, Sacramento CA 95835
Riders Thoughts: Wild Rose Skatepark
The Wild Rose Skatepark is located right in the middle of a large residential neighborhood, making it a gathering point for the children that live in the neighborhood. It would be great to grow up in a neighborhood that has a cool skatepark right in the middle!
I think the triangle shape to the skatepark helps to avoid crashes because the flow of traffic tends to go in a loop as the children follow each other around the skatepark. If you can get to the skatepark while the children are in school then you’ll find a variety of good lines in any direction.
My favorite part of this skatepark is the snake bowl area. The different pockets in this bowl help a rider to pump up and maintain speed through the park. The large pockets in the bowl are positioned well allowing riders to turn around and go the other direction easily… unless there’s a lot of traffic behind you!
Skating in this snake bowl with a longboard is a great way to surf the cement. If the cement in this skatepark was compared to water for surfing, I think it would be like surfing in choppy water.
There are a lot of banked turns and vert walls, but they are all pretty short and close together. I noticed that because the walls are short it is easy to go too fast and shoot out of the bowl. I think an experienced skateboarder would use this speed and the short walls to ollie over the humps and back into the bowl.

The street section of the Wild Rose Skatepark in Sacramento has a great variety of obstacles for street riders. The street section is fairly simple and flows downhill in one direction. Even though this section is simple, a skater can hit a number of ramps, boxes, rails, and even stairs in a single line.
This is a fun little skatepark, great for kids of any age with boards or scooters. It makes for a fun little pump track and can be a good place to chill and surf the cement for a bit. But if you’re an experienced rider and looking for a great skatepark in the area, Sacramento has a lot of choices and this would be one near the bottom of the list.
